Okay, time for the meat of the blog. Do you realize how many products there are out there touting the term “meal replacement”? After writing the Balance Complete blog post, this term has been in the back of my mind. Take my last shopping trip for instance: I was attracted multiple times to a meal replacement bar or shake and found myself judging the nutritional content. I came to this conclusion: The vast majority of these products are glorified snacks and treats, not meals. They simply don’t supply the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy body functions.
