Maintaining Your Skin’s pH Balance—It’s All About Chemistry!

ART Purifying Toner
Would you be surprised to learn that men have a greater need for skin-care regimens than women? Well, it’s true. Men have larger pores and a greater skin surface, giving environmental assaults more opportunities to attack. The irony, of course, is that too many men (and women) do not take the time to properly arm their skin’s natural defense.

Young Living’s ART Purifying Toner is a fast, easy, and reliable way to support your skin’s defenses. How? Well, it’s all about maintaining your skin’s natural chemistry—acid and alkaline. The ideal pH level of your skin is about 5.5. Preserving this pH level supports the acid mantle—a protective layer on your skin’s surface that defends against bacteria, combats dehydration, and maintains moisture.

Slique Fitness Tip: Flexibility

Stretching is an often overlooked—but crucial—part of any workout routine. It can help you avoid injuries like pulled muscles and help decrease the soreness that follows intense exercise by improving muscle circulation. Stretching before and after you work out will have a positive impact on the effectiveness of your fitness routine.*
  • Hamstrings—With your feet shoulder-width apart, bend down at the waist and reach for your toes. You should feel some resistance behind your knees. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds at a time.
  • Quadriceps—Supporting your weight against something solid, bend your right knee and bring your right foot behind you. Reach back and grab your foot with your right hand. You should feel some resistance in the front of your thigh. Repeat with your left leg. Hold this stretch for 10 seconds at a time.

Put your Best Skin Forward this Summer!

Summer is upon us and we all want our skin to look great, whether out in the sun having fun or relaxing at a favorite hang-out. Here are some helpful skincare tips to help you make the most of your activities this summer:

1. Exfoliate to Radiate
It’s so very important to exfoliate your skin. Your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of every day. If you don’t get rid of them, they just remain in place, giving your skin a dull, dry appearance. And no matter how much lotion you use, you’re never going to have radiant skin if you don’t exfoliate. So grab a body scrub and hit the shower! Gently rub your exfoliator (Young Living’s Satin Mint) in circular movements on your entire body from the shoulders down (you’ll want a facial exfoliator for your face and neck) and rinse clean. Continue to do this 2-3 times a week for year-round beautiful skin.
