A bath is one of the easiest ways to squeeze in some much-deserved pampering time for your skin and your mood. Relaxing in a tub full of warm, sweet-smelling goodness can seem like the ultimate indulgence but it is anything but frivolous—baths nourish winter-worn skin, ease achy muscles, and even inspire creativity.
You can create a great soak of your own with just a few ingredients from your pantry or local market and a few drops of essential oil. Here is a recipe for a citrus bath that is a favorite of mine and is a great perk to winter blah skin and mood.
Skin-Soothing Citrus Bath
1 navel orange
1 c. whole cloves, divided
1 c. pulp-free orange juice
1/2 c. soy milk
2 tsp. Young Living lavender essential oil
How To Make It: Cut orange into even slices; insert 1/2 cup cloves into slices. Fill tub with 90°–95° water (you can use a cooking thermometer to test the water temperature) add oranges, remaining 1/2 cup cloves, orange juice, soy milk, and a few drops of Young Living lavender essential oil.
