Expanding the Use of Stress Away

The traditional application of Stress Away to your wrists or the back of your neck is still an effective way to ease anxiety. Whatever the situation may be, this natural solution is created to combat the normal stresses that creep into everyday life.

The proprietary blend of Stress Away includes:
Copaiba (Copaifera reticulata)—Copaiba is a powerful essential oil from South America that has traditionally been used internally to aid digestion* and support the body’s natural response to injury or irritation.

Lime (Citrus aurantifolia)—Lime essential oil has an invigorating and stimulating effect and is believed to be native of eastern Malaysia. The pleasant citrus aroma of lime may help mental clarity and encourage creativity. When applied to the skin, lime oil may also support healthy skin.

Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica)—Cedarwood has a warm, balsamic, woody aroma. It is relaxing and soothing when used for massage and has long been used as a beneficial ingredient in cosmetic preparations for oily skin.

Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia)—This variety of vanilla is a species of the vanilla orchid that is native to Mexico and is one of the primary sources for vanilla flavoring, due to its high vanillin content.

Ocotea (Ocotea quixos)—Extracted from an Ecuadorian tree, ocotea has the highest level of alpha humulene of any Young Living essential oil, which is a compound that helps aid the body’s natural response to irritation and injury.* Ocotea also has natural cleansing and purifying properties.

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)—Lavender has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is also an adaptogen and can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances.

Essential 7: Peppermint Part 2

The Essential 7™  is a collection of seven of Young Living’s premiere single oils and oil blends. YL’s Doug Corrigan and Karen Boren are guest bloggers for a series sharing information that will teach you the many ways the Essential 7 kit can enrich your life.

DOUG: You mentioned peppermint, Karen, how it impacts us topically—especially with its powerful phytochemical menthol.

KAREN: Peppermint is multifaceted. Anyone who gets to that certain age where joints start creaking a bit will find that that peppermint on the knees is just bliss! I love balsam fir for that as well but peppermint is really the one that has worked on my knees. I think this is a key point for people to know, that oils impact us all a little bit differently. We need to find the ones that work best for us, and like you, I’ve experimented and found out which ones are helpful for me and my body chemistry.

The Essential 7: Lavender

The Essential 7™  is a collection of seven of Young Living’s premiere single oils and oil blends. YL’s Doug Corrigan and Karen Boren are guest bloggers for a series sharing information that will teach you the many ways the Essential 7 kit can enrich your life.

DOUG: I can’t emphasize enough that the Essential 7 kit is geared to the main areas where almost everyone is going to have a problem. Take sunburn, for example. This is a problem where lavender can be really helpful.

KAREN: I agree. I recently had a phone call from my youngest daughter, who had taken her kids out on a lake, and they were boating and having a great time. She talked about having taken along a bag of some of her oils that contained the Essential 7 kit, including Purificationlemon, and lavender, plus other favorites. Her four-year-old daughter is very fair, so lavender is a must for her to have on hand for sunburns. With her oils kit she is covered to handle most situations that come up—a headache, stomach ache, scraped knee, or sunburn—all those are covered with these versatile essential oils.

Put your Best Skin Forward this Summer!

Summer is upon us and we all want our skin to look great, whether out in the sun having fun or relaxing at a favorite hang-out. Here are some helpful skincare tips to help you make the most of your activities this summer:

1. Exfoliate to Radiate
It’s so very important to exfoliate your skin. Your body sheds skin cells at an amazing rate every minute of every day. If you don’t get rid of them, they just remain in place, giving your skin a dull, dry appearance. And no matter how much lotion you use, you’re never going to have radiant skin if you don’t exfoliate. So grab a body scrub and hit the shower! Gently rub your exfoliator (Young Living’s Satin Mint) in circular movements on your entire body from the shoulders down (you’ll want a facial exfoliator for your face and neck) and rinse clean. Continue to do this 2-3 times a week for year-round beautiful skin.

Minor Burns Can Be Treated with Home Remedies

When a minor burn happens, the first thing to do is to get it under cold running water as quickly as possible. The sooner the burning process can be stopped, the better. You need to put out the fire, so to speak.

The second thing to do about a minor burn after it has been held under cold running water and the burning has ceased is absolutely nothing.

Leave it alone. The skin isn’t broken, and the body is designed to take care of the problem. If a blister forms, do NOT pop it.

Leave it alone. The fluid will be absorbed back into the body and help with the healing process.

Cover the burn with a clean porous bandage-like gauze and leave it alone for a full 24 hours. After a full day has passed, you can start applying the aloe vera gel to the burn.
Aloe vera gel is found in the middle of the leaves of the aloe vera plant. Simply cut a leaf open, extract the gel, and apply it to the burn.

Or you can use the universal oil, Lavender oil. This oil can help eliminate allergies and other types of burns.

Better Than Skin Deep

Mineral Essence™While attending Young Living’s recent Ireland Incentive Trip, a friend showed me a reddened area on her skin. The area had been bothering her for a while and even after using many wonderful essential, it was still there.
When I’m at a loss, I trust the Creator of all life. So I quieted down my mental chatter and Mineral Essence™ simply popped into mind. Minerals! That was the key!

According to Nobel Prize winner Dr. Linus Pauling, “You can trace . . .  every ailment to your minerals deficiency.” Young Living’s Mineral Essence is a balanced, full-spectrum ionic mineral complex that is enhanced with essential oils. Ionic minerals are the most fully and quickly absorbed form of minerals available.

Loving Touch with Essential Oils

Daily “oil petting” for general prevention and promotion of well-being is simple. Incorporate these six steps into your daily routine:
  1. Choose one of these five fabulous oils for your best friend:
  • Peace & Calming® essential oil blend helps relax the nervous system and can release tension.
  • Sacred Mountain™ is grounding and stabilizing. This blend is filled with the fragrance of outdoors and brings unexpected gifts. One day a neighbor’s dog came over joyfully and sat by me in the street. Her owner commented, “She never goes to anyone!” That is the wonder of Sacred Mountain! I applied one drop an hour before and then I was this dog’s best friend.
  • Idaho Tansy is one of the most versatile oils for animals. It is purifying, cleansing, regenerating, repels flies, and lots more!
  • Lavender essential oil is a wonderful relaxant and is great for healing wounds.
